Humberstone Park Day Nursery: rebrand, website and photography in Leicester
Rebrand, five page website, photography and drone for a two-setting nursery group.
For a nursery, the first impression happens online. Long before a parent picks up the phone or books a visit, they have already formed a judgement based on the brand they saw and the site they landed on. A dated logo, stock photography or a confusing website quietly costs enquiries the nursery never knows it lost.
Humberstone Park Day Nursery is part of HPDN, a Leicester childcare group that also runs Hine Park Day Nursery. They came to CL42ITY for a full package: a brand refresh, a new website and a photography shoot at both settings, all pulling in the same direction under one unified HPDN name.
The challenge
The brief carried a structural problem most nursery sites never face. Two nurseries, one group, one brand. Humberstone Park and Hine Park each have their own building, their own team and their own atmosphere, but they needed to sit together under a single, unified HPDN identity. Parents searching for one setting should never have to wade through information about the other.
Underneath that, it all needed to do the quiet work every good nursery brand does: build trust, answer the questions parents actually ask, and make booking a visit effortless.
The rebrand
We started with the brand. The existing HPDN identity was modernised into something consistent, warm and professional that worked across both nurseries and every touchpoint, from the website to print. That meant refining the colour palette for consistency across both settings, choosing typography that feels warm and parent-friendly rather than corporate, and delivering final brand files in every format needed for print and digital use.
The photography
A brand is only as good as the imagery carrying it, and nothing undermines a nursery site faster than generic stock photos of children who were never there. We ran a photography day on-site at both Humberstone Park and Hine Park, capturing the actual rooms, gardens and outdoor spaces a child would spend their days in, plus drone footage of each setting. That imagery runs throughout the website.
The website
With the brand and imagery in place, we designed and built a five page website that gives HPDN a modern, welcoming home online, fully responsive across mobile and desktop, where most parents will find them. Each nursery has its own dedicated page, and a built-in booking and calendar system lets parents enquire, book a visit or reserve a session directly through the site. It sits on an easy CMS so the team can keep everything up to date.
Built to be found
We set the site up for local search from day one: meta tags, heading structure, image optimisation, keyword structure across the core pages and Google indexing, so the site was searchable from launch. Search is a long game, and this foundation is what ongoing content builds on.
The result
HPDN now has a refreshed brand, professional photography of both settings, and a website that matches the quality of care they provide. Two nurseries are handled without confusion, each has room to stand out, and parents can go from first click to booked visit in a few taps.
Two settings, each with its own page
Humberstone Park has been trading for over 20 years and is rated Good by Ofsted. Hine Park welcomes children from 8 weeks to school age on a term-time basis. The site gives each nursery its own page with its own photos, opening hours and contact details, while the HPDN brand ties them together.
Built around what parents need
- A government funding page that explains 15 and 30 hour entitlements in plain English, with an eligibility check
- A parent noticeboard with term dates, downloads, funding information and useful links
- Book a Visit buttons and a WhatsApp link on every page
- A blog for news and early years advice
- Ofsted, funding and DBS-checked staff shown up front
Film and motion
Alongside the photography we created short, gently animated films from the nursery shoot: rooms, gardens and the building from above. They bring the website and social media to life without needing a full film crew on site.
